Originally formed around 2004 as a Norman cavalry team in the renowned Living History Society Regia Anglorum, the Conroi became independent in 2013 with a view to working with a wider range of groups and broadening its horizons beyond the Dark Ages and the Early Medieval world. Members of the Conroi have ridden in roles as diverse as Roman Auxilia Cavalry; Viking mounted reavers and Victorian lancers, and in battle displays ranging from the Boer War to the American Civil war.

The Conroi have a solid reputation for their riding in recreations of battles, and also perform exciting ‘skill at arms’ displays, as well as dramatic tournament combats and ‘melees’.
